Franziska Gasser, a successful wine cellarer, returns to her home in Brixental, in South Tyrol, as her father Josef has had an accident and is in hospital. The grape harvest is imminent, and all possible help is urgently needed. As Franzi feared from the start, her thoughts and plans for the wine estate clash massively with those of her father. The dispute escalates and old conflicts erupt again.

When her stubborn South Tyrolean father takes massive action against Franzi's burgeoning love affair with Marco - an Italian - Franzi resolutely follows in the footsteps of the dispute. She stumbles upon old wounds and family secrets which are rooted in the ongoing conflict between South Tyroleans and Italians.
